Funny Internet Stories

Jeff's post got me thinking about two of my Funny Internet stories.

1989 - I was @ Georgia Tech (BS - 1990, MS - 1991).  I had a friend of mine that kept talking about this concept of documents on different machines and the ability to connect from one document to another.  I remember saying, or at least thinking, what a stupid idea.  You would need to have the public connected to the Internet and since the public isn't connected, this dumb idea won't make it off the ground.  Thank goodness that has changed.

1994 - I was @ Coca-Cola in Atlanta (1992-1995).  I was riding back on the shuttle to the building I worked in when I got into a discussion about technology directions.  The question of application development came up.  Someone made the statement that we should start building applications to run over the web due to the cost.  I remarked that until their were standards for application development that worked well over the web that it wasn't even an option.  Since then, we have been given IDC/HTX(cough, choke), ASP, and ASP.NET.
