Atlanta Code Camp report

The Atlanta Code Camp is over and I have gotten home. I drove through some storms around the GA/TN state line. I think things went pretty well. We had a speaker meetup on Friday night.

Just about the only thing that went wrong was the storms that blew through about lunch time on Saturday while lunch was being grilled on Saturday. It popped up so suddently it was too late to do anything about it.

I'll be posting pics from the event later, once they are all uploaded.

It was amazing to me the distances some people came for the event. From a speaker standpoint, I drove from Washington DC(though, I live in TN), Vinay Ahuja drove from Jacksonville, FL, Tom Fuller drove from Tampa, FL, Jose and Jay came from Tallahassee, FL, but the person than won the long distance travel award was Jean-Luc David. He came from Toronto. Wow, is that commitment.

I also got to see a number of people that I know there. Paul Wilson, Greg Young, Doug Tunoure, Brendon Schwartz and many others. It was good to meet some of the listeners of the podcast that came. Chris Love came from Raleigh Durham. Stephen Vanterpool came from Columbia, SC. There were some other folks there from NC. I was shocked when these people came up to me right before my talk and introduced themselves. The wanted to talk about the show and a number of things. It was really great to listen to the feedback (of course, everyone loves me and wants more Wally, but thats a different discussion).
