CoffeeScript’s competitor-------TypeScript

CoffeeScript is very powerful, but its syntax is so different from that of JavaScript that people are unwilling to use it.

As JS has become the primary language of Windows 8, Microsoft attaches great importance to it and has newly launched a JS superset----TypeScript. TypeScript is very suitable for large-scaled projects since it is not only compatible with the existing JS , but also introduces such concepts as class, module and static checking etc. It’s also worth mentioning that Anders Hejlsberg, C#’s designer, has also been engaged in this project.

One can write TypeScript code via Web Essentials 2012 in VS2012. Of course, Microsoft has issued an official editor. But at present the editor seems unable to automatically generates the JavaScript code.

Nova Launched a Free Open-source CRM Product, Coevery!

In order to provide better service to all clients, Nova Software has built up a team to develop a CRM product, based on which customization and extension can be done according to clients’ requirement.

After 9 months' efforts, our first product - Coevery has come out. Coevery is a free Open Source CRM product. The current version is based on Windows Form, but soon we will offer version based on ASP.NET MVC, as well as apps based on Android and Windows Phone.

Nova’s own staff have started to use this product for daily operation and we found this product has greatly facilitated our work. Later, we are going to invite our clients to use our CRM system, in order to ensure our service be more transparent and effective.

When developing ASP.NET website based on ASP.NET MVC, we would write plenty of codes in the ASP.NET views. We always encounter a kind of problems that the code errors in the views cannot be found out when building the website, the error will be thrown until we open the view. I think it is too late. The solution is that we can utilize precompiling an ASP.NET Web site to find out errors in the ASP.NET views immediately.

You could put the following command into the Post-build event textbox of the Project Properties window.

D:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_compiler -p "$(ProjectDir)." -v /$(ProjectName)

If you feel it is a little slow, you could put the command like below into a batch file, then you execute it just as you need.

D:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_compiler -p "e:\MvcApplication1" -v /$MvcApplication1
