My experiences with technology

Recently, Joe Stagner contacted me and asked if I would like a blog here at He didn't have to ask twice, as I have always been an avid reader of I would first like to introduce myself and then explain what I will be trying to accomplish here at

My name is Blake Niemyjski and I am currently twenty years old. My birthday is October 16th. I started programming as a hobby about 9 years ago, when I dived deep into Unix Scripting and Basic. I quickly moved on up the ladder to greater things at the time like; VB6, then later on VB.Net. After coding in VB.Net for a while I thought it was time to step it up and made the switch to C#. For those of you who are wondering if you should make the switch, I'll just say that I have never looked back and am extremely happy with C#. Over the course of the last 3 years, I have continued learning other languages, as it is always wise to leave your options open. These languages are: Java, C++, and ASM (and a few various other languages).

Many of you don't know who I am. If you follow Telligent, Extended64 or, then you more than likely have come into contact with me. Below are three blogs that I operate.

  1. (64 Bit Computing)
  2. (my website,  Development on the windows platform)
  3. (Telligent Systems Internship Program).

This past summer I spent the summer down in Texas working as an intern at Telligent Systems, Inc. I was on the product team responsible for designing and implementing the new and upcoming product Community Server Enterprise Reporting. It's a pretty cool application that allows you to view your communities' health, and various other statistics. You can view the live demo here.

Over the next couple of months my goal here on will be to inform others on the following topics:

  • Design strategies
  • Best practices
  • Tips and tricks
  • My Experiences

Please feel free to give me feedback through comments or private messages.

-Blake Niemyjski
