Webmonkey, RIP: 1996 – 2004

I just needed to blog this so that I have a bookmark reference to it.

I'll never forget those nights, sitting in front of my new PC running Win98.  I had all of Thau's javascript tutorial - both the beginner and the advanced series' - printed out and bound in a folder.  At the time I was learning some really cool stuff such as: “how to set the text value in the window.status object”, “using arrays”, “using loops”, “accessing properties of the window object“, etc.  I probably didn't fully realize it at the time but Thau had led me into a brand new world.

Thanks Webmonkeys!

  • Yeah, I remember doing Thau's JS tutorials too! Man, those were the days way back when (1996-1999 for me).

  • Thau taught me javascript as well...funny story:

I signed up for a Javascript course at my local community college, and the first day the prof (!) told us that we would be referring to Thau's tutorial for most of the semester.

That's about the same time I dropped that course. I'd already done the advanced tut!
