I'm Back !!
Good news for those of you missed me over the past 3 months (less significant for those of you who didn't notice that I was gone... :-) ). It is pretty much 3 months to the day since my last blog posting. Fortunately, all has been well - really well in fact. I have just been SO overwhelmed with work and meeting deadlines (I saw the hour of 3:00 AM more often in a 2-week period than I have in a very, very long time...).
Among the things that have been keeping me so busy:
* Completion of several different projects. One was a WinForms project (very XML-intensive) for a high-profile international company, another was a WebForm project for a different global company, that will soon be rolled out ot its various different international locations.
* We also scored a big VS 2005 / .NET 2.0 win. We completed a framework / Proof of Concept project, which the technical people were very happy with. After the system was demoed to senior management, we received funding to continue development and start incrementally rolling it out into production. This project is a very distributed application, and includes WinForms, WebForms, Web Services and other cool technology.
* TechEd US and TechEd EMEA. I did a few different sessions at these two events. My session "Database Application Quick Start with SQL Express and Visual Basic .NET 2005" received the 20th highest score at TechEd EMEA !
* The usual User group meetings and presentations...
Even in my absense from the blogsphere, I have been making notes of useful information that I'd like to share. I plan on posting this information (slowly) over the coming days and weeks. I apologize if some of it seems like "old news" to some of you...
