RIAs

With all the talk about Flash based RIAs, check out this dealy that Scoble pointed out a few minutes ago:

Some potentially very cool (flash based?) RIA stuff via Laszlo. More details at the O'Reilly conference tomorrow...

Update: Laszlo information galore over at http://www.laszlosystems.com/

Update: I like these Laszlo guys:

"Where Macromedia over steps is when they say you really ought to use the Flash authoring tool to develop applications," Temkin said. "We say, hold on right there. That's not realistic. Flash doesn't have best practices around it and it's not geared to use by [software] engineers: You've got art assets on a stage and you attach scripts to them so you've got code inside graphics and a timeline structure and other approaches that a typical developer won't find comfortable...

...Getting in bed with the leading technologies of today -- such as Flash, J2EE, and .NET -- makes good sense. Better would be getting in bed with the vendors that back those technologies. No rich app vendor has scored that sugar daddy deal yet. Interestingly, no major vendor has made a public rich app bet either. Could such deals be in the works? Or could a new .Net client be coming soon that will emerge as the real rich app target client of the future?

The more we hear from rich app vendors like Laszlo, which push new grounds but are respectful of existing enterprise app architectures and requirements, the more we believe answers may be coming soon."
