Macromedia and the CLR
You might find the following comments by Macromedia folks to be quite interesting:
“I don't think we ever announced a specific timeframe for the .NET version but it is advancing well. I'll be able to be more specific by the end of this month I suspect.
By the way, Lazlo has announced plans to support Longhorn...that is a couple of years out. They don't support it or .CLR yet. We will have products that run on and integrate (natively) with Longhorn as well if that helps. I imagine we will be first in some categories.
We chose to do the Java version of Flex prior to the .NET version because in our core target market J2EE is a bit more widely used. The time difference between the two will not be all that great, and we will aggressively support both. “ [1]David Mendels

Senior VP of Platforms and Tools“Hi Jesse. Glad to see you taking such an interest in our .NET strategy. I think you'll find that we are doing far more than you might expect. Flex has been running on the CLR in the labs for a while now. Stay tuned on that one. There is more than a little C# coding going on around here.“ [2]
