Tabs for Office 2003 and 2007

If you write any documents (yes, they are important!) in Microsoft Office, then you'd know that the Office apps are SDI (single document interface) applications.

Simply put, it means that an instance of Word will appear for each Word document you've got open (well, technically only one WINWORD.EXE process will be running, but let's leave it at that as it's not the point of my blog). Being great documentors as we all are, your Taskbar will show several instances open.

OfficeTab to the rescue.

It's a cool freeware Office add-on written by a Chinese software developer that allows you to add tabs to Word, Excel and PowerPoint. OfficeTab 1.20 is the latest stable version. At the moment, it only supports the Chinese and English versions of Office.

And here's the link to OfficeTab.

Enjoy!
