Ah ! The hard life of a developer

I just want to share my thoughts on the pressure developers can take from their companies.

I'm coming from a meeting, where i was asked to pause my current projects, start a new one with deadlines only an alien species like the Borgs can achieve ;-)

I know, it's an old story, I live like this since 23 years, but I wonder what's going to happen in the future.

Imagine, 10 years ago , before the web, I would be able to talk about 6 months or more just to analyze the project.

Now today 7 days maximum to start a website, deal with the database, integrate the content, debug and test.

Oh ! I forget the design, because I have also some experience on that.

And I don't talk about a website for the recipes of my aunt Julia, no I talk about an official website for the Irish Government, in the perspective of European presidency and the choice of an official logo for this period !

Hopefully, the functions required will not be too much an issue.

I would like to know which experience you have with short deadlines, how you deal with that.
Maybe I can do this as a vote or a quiz, adding more tasks to my hard day life !
