INDA - Another great session soon!
![]() | 14-06-2005 C# - 2.0 and Beyond presented by Eamon O'Tuathail |
Summary This session explores how C# will evolve in the short and long-term to suit the needs of professional developers. C# 2.0 will soon be ready for production use and offers rich constructs such as generics, iterators/coroutines, anonymous methods, partial types and nullable types. Further out is C? (pronounced C Omega), an experimental C# derivative language from Microsoft Research that integrates concurrency (as asynchronous methods) and XQuery & SQL data access (as C# keywords, not strings) directly in the C# language. C#+ Extensions extends C#2.0/C? in interesting ways (AOP, design by contract, specgen and concept types [generics]). The session will conclude with a practical demonstration of the new language features in use. C++ STL is the premier library of concepts, algorithms, containers, iterators & allocators. We examine how to rewrite it in C#2.0/C?/C#+. Speaker: Eamon O'Tuathail Start Time: 19:00 Location: Dublin - To be confirmed ![]() |
