Attack of the Roberts

Had a wonderfully interesting conversation with NEC's sole Blogger, Mr. TabletPC himself, Robert Scoble. Scobie's been to many geek parties in Silicon Valley lately, and he says he's partied out for a while. I think sometime soon we need to have a party for all tech bloggers named Robert. So far it would be me, Scobie, Rob Howard, and Rob Fahrni (please don't shoot me if I left anyone out). I would probably feel like the odd man out tho, since those guys are heavywaights in the industry and I'm just a lowly coder. It would still be cool. I wish I lived in SV so that I could go to all the cool geek parties (or maybe just stand outside and watch lol).

Back to the convo with Scoble. I'm sold on the TabletPC, especially after he pointed out that you can use the WinXP Pro on the TPC to remote desktop into a more powerful machine. Duh. I use remote desktop all the time for my servers, and accessing my monster machine at home when I am at work. Why didn't I think of this before? Oh yeah, that's because I'm drowning in a world of CSS and table cell alignments while I finish my employer's new website. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow. I wanted to get away from designing sites, and I'm right back in it. Ah, the pay's good and the work environment is a blast, so I can't complain.

Gotta finish building a PC for my mom and sisters. The PII 233 box I built for them a while back isn't cutting it anymore. If I finish within the next hour I'm gonna go drop it off over at their house. I'm blogged out for the day... Catch ya all tomorrow.
