Taking the Initiative

I'm taking the initiative, and creating a "Combating Framework Hell" Task Force to solve the issue of being unable to programmatically redirect assemblies to use different versions of the Framework. Anyone who is interested, please reply to this post or use my blog form to contact me.

I'm thinking that the way to go at this point is to try to programmatically tap into whatever system the Configuration parser and Framework already use to handle the existing web.config redirect system. Any assistance MSFT could provide in this matter would be appreciated. The solution that the Task Force comes up with will be made available to the community free of charge at our earliest convenience.

Note: Some of you might think that, based on my previous entry, this is not necessary because it's not a big deal. You missed the point. The point was not that Frans' opinion that it is a problem is not invalid (because it is a pain in the ass to deal with), the point was that version complilation is not enough of a reason to make such a far-reaching statement as he did. I'm putting this part of the discussion to rest here and now. He changed his title, and all is well in the world. Now who wants to help me fix this problem?
