My 50th Posting

My 50th posting, this one. I have to repeat the content with the posting made in my Radio site.

The past week, I was busy with a client project of a very technical nature - enhancements of ATL/COM libraries. It reminded me of Groove's current transition from COM to the .NET platform. Groove's underlying library base still is very much COM-based and COM is not going to go away any time soon - there is a tremendous amount of code-generation by ATL-wizards and the like. I believe that in the future, we'll find out that Microsoft's decision to "abandon" COM and create .NET was a "company-saving" decision. In any case, enhancements and transition wrappers for ATL/COM for the "new" .NET World is no easy task - Groove development, I feel your pain.
