Brief Bio

The opinions in the Web Blogs are my own -

I have about 20 years experience in business and information technologies. I began my career as a research associate at the Space Science Center - working with astro-physicists in developing analytical applications for space probe data. My business and technology experience ranges from insurance and financial services, foreign exchange, manufacturing, healthcare and Internet-related firms. Among the firms I have worked for are Aetna, MassMutual, General Electric, IBM-Prodigy, IBM Watson Research Labs and several startup venture firms. The latter in the capacity of business planning and in seeking venture capital funding.

I was part of the team that built the Prodigy web-browser (~2m copies distributed). Later, at IBM TJ Watson Research labs (home of Deep Blue) I worked on systems performance management and research in Electronic Commerce issues. I currently work in EBusiness and Global sourcing projects at KeyTech, LLC  (Hartford CT) and have a business alliance with Groove development firms (ApWiz-CompuTact India). I am very active in Groove spaces and manage several spaces in Healthcare, Business & Technical development and other (non-political) topics. The space members are from various organizations - Groove Networks, Red Cross, CARE, US Army, US Navy, Booze-Allen, McKinsey, IBM and numerous small companies from over 20 countries.

My (high) schooling was in India and the UK (O/A Levels). As a college undergraduate, I studied Cognitive Psychology & Computer Science at the University of New Hampshire.  Later,  a MBA in Marketing & International Business at the University of Hartford CT. Followed by a MA in Economics from Trinity College CT and MS in Computer Science from Pace University NY. Along the way, I also did some academic work at Wesleyan and Yale universities.

I am the Acting Director (with Carl Franklin) of the Connecticut .NET Developer Group and the President of the Trinity Club of Hartford (Alumni chapter Trinity College, CT).

I am a Ham Radio operator (KA1ULY, ex-VU2SEZ). I am a private pilot in training and hope to have an Instrument Rating before my next medical exam (~2 yrs - that's what I stated to my FAA Medical Examiner :).
