Intel expected to change course on CPU Architectures

Intel, which next week is expected to announce plans to move to a new processor architecture, is switching to a new yardstick to measure processor performance: performance per watt.

This has to be the worst kept secret in the cpu business.  Its right up there with Intel implementing the x64 architecture.  Anyway, I think it is good news none the less.  While I love my P4 systems, My AMD64 system does seem to run much cooler (and faster).
