of a few nitches, I don't see Itanium taking off. Until software
written for commodity hardware (32 bit Windows) runs at full speed and
on chip, I don't see the Itanium going anywhere. Once the software is
actually running on the hardware, the next issue will be the general
cost of an Itanium system. With the Core architcture performance
improvements that come over time, I just don't see Itanium going
anywhere.
