TestDriven.NET 2.7 on Orcas Express!

I'm happy to report that TestDriven.NET is working on Orcas Express! If you'd like to try out the new C# 3.0/VB 9.0 language features without installing the full Visual Studio Orcas Edition then now's your chance. You should find this version works with Visual C#, VB and C++ Orcas Express CTP/.NET 3.5 Beta 1. Due to some changes Microsoft made to Orcas it works even more seamlessly than it does in Visual Studio 2005 Express!

NOTE: There is a chance this functionality will be disabled at 4 PM London time next Friday, 1 June 2007. Why find a technical solution to a problem when you have an army of lawyers?

I'm not clear what that reference to "work around technical limitations" is all about.  I remember a previous incident with Jason Weber, seemingly wanting to stop TestDriven working with Express editions.

To me this seems very wrong headed.

Surely everybody wants beginning programmers and part timers... to learn to be good programmers.  Surely we don't want them learning bad habits that might be slow to fix or never be undone.

Enough long time programmers don't do a credible job of documentation and testing.  We know this is a serious problem.

Is there really an attempt to help cripple the minds of part time and starting programmers.  I certainly hope not.  If that's what's guiding the Visual Studio management team the product could be headed for disaster.  (And there I really hope not!)

(Resorting to legal action and thinking may the last resort of a scoundrel.)

They may belive sending lawyers after you instead of finding a technical solution, have the effect of scaring other of trying to add-in to the Express edition!

I suggest that you support another free ide as an alternative to the Express e.g. SharpDevelop

but I hope you will continue support the Professional version of VS

Nah, if Microsoft doesn't follow through, or does follow through in court and fails, then if anything we are awakened to the fact that we can build products that can interoperate with Express. I for one am now curious about TestDriven.net after all that's happened, and never looked at it before until now.
