DB2 and .NET

An IBM guy was sit next to me with some DB2 / .NET Powerpoints, so I asked him about it. It seems DB2 is going to support running stored procedures in managed code!

Oracle is next in the line ;)

  • Andres,

Any additional information you could provide (speaker name, links, etc.) would be appreciated.

  • HA! I think Larry Ellison is more concerned about yachting now than running his company. I seriously doubt that Oracle will ever add support for .NET. Hey, they didn't even write their own data provider for .NET, Microsoft had to do it for them. At least IBM took the initiative and wrote their own data provider for DB2.

In any case, it's great to see that IBM is playing ball and adding support for writing stored proc's in managed code! :)
