Clemens' Session

DEV357 'Building Distributed .NET Applications' was the only conference that I was able to assist, as I was really busy in DeKlarit's booth. Paul said it was the best overall session, so it seems I made the right choice ;).

The content was good. I know Clemens likes EnterpriseServices a lot and now I understand better why. Anyway, the idea that .NET Remoting is not good for remoting still sounds strange to me. Clemens said something like 'if you need to start adding channels and sinks to add authentication to .NET Remoting then you are using the wrong technology'. I did not have time to wait for him at the end and ask him to clarify it.

In the first part of the presentation he demoed a layered architecture for distributed apps that was quite cool. Of course, he used DataSets ;).
