Reflection severely broken for properties

PropertyInfo.GetCustomAttributes never returns attributes inherited from the base class if the property is an override.

Even worse, if you ask for Attributes.IsDefined with the same values, you will get a true!! :S:S:S... Can't believe a release of .NET comes out without an automated test for those kinds of things...

Well, given the scope of all the other things, I can believe some little things like this slip through.

Good to catch, but its probably a little on the late side. Perhaps it'll show for an SP1.

Fixing this in SP1 would be hard, as there may be software that depend on this bug to work!

Looks like they've closed it as "By Design". Seems like they've resorted to doing that to all your bugs lately, my friend. :)

Yup... I wonder how can that behavior been by design. Anyway... surely they have their reasons to resolve them like that: most probably bugs resolved by design don't count against them as real bugs ;). But we know the truth... don't we? :)

I really wish that for every bug that was resolved as "by design", that they would explain what design.
