MonoTouch and MonoDroid at NxtGenUG Birmingham on January 18th 2011

  • Hi, here's a problem of MonoDroid. Someone tried the latest MonoDroid preview, it seems an empty app cost nealy 30mb (runtime 17.35mb, app 12.09mb) after deploying to the device.

    It seems MonoTouch cost only 4-5mb extra size to an application, it that anything wrong with MonoDroid (like miss-using the linker)?

    You're spot on about the linker, the linker isn't currently enabled for MonoDroid projects but it will be for the full release (v1.0) of MonoDroid along with the garbage collector.
