WP7, iPhone and Droid, Oh my! Session at DDD8a

 ICANHAZCHEESEBURGER.com

This coming Saturday (23rd October 2010) I will be presenting a session on Windows Phone 7, iPhone and Android development at DDD8a in Reading, UK at TVP. The attendee list is full but there's a waitlist so you might make it through on that. Since the event is based around "Modern .Net", I will be talking about mobile development with .Net across all three platforms, focusing on MonoTouch, MonoDroid, WP7 development and what Mono can bring to that platform. The session will also discuss the differences between the two platforms as a whole from development experience and deploying your applications and the problems and pitfalls to look out for when re-using code and porting applications across to other platforms.

My session starts at 9.30am so I doubt I'll be seeing Seb in the front row but hopefully everyone can make it in that early! Anything you want to see or hear about? Then leave a comment and I will see if I can fit it into my talk.

 Cheers,

 ChrisNTR

  • Good luck. That's likely to be a monster mammoth session. I hope there'll be some York notes for those of us not attending.

  • Thanks Kian, I'll make sure I get my slides up here. Hopefully they'll be useful without me rambling over the top of them.

  • Hi Chris,

I worked on the original port of Monodevelop from Sharp Develop with Todd Berman in the early days (my email then was jba-mono@otpusnet.com.au). I've since changed email accounts. (Still have my mono svn ssh keys around somewhere)

I've tried to get on the Monodroid beta a number of times and got no feedback after signing up interest. Are you able to do something about pushing the request through for more so that I can get a decent look at it?

  • Hi jba,

Hopefully you'll have a nice MonoDroid e-mail sitting in your inbox.

    Hope this helps,

    ChrisNTR
