[New article] data access control - SqlDataSourceControl

Just published a new article on ASPAlliance last week, ah... I just notice that I didn't write for my column more than 4 months... :\




In Web Matrix, there is a new data access control - SqlDataSourceControl and we can use it to manipulate the datasource and databind to any data web controls, e.g. DropDownList, DataGrid, DataList, Repeater, etc. The beauty is that you can create and configurate the SqlDataSourceControl once easily, and then you can apply it to different data web controls immediately.

    Thanks for your response on web matrix general discussion board regarding connection string error. I'm afraid I bombarded you with a response.





    I followed some of your links and found the aspalliance and then to this blog. I read the code and now understand that my Select statement needs to be in the data access control.





    How about the MXDataGrid? Pretty neat! Did you manually write the code, or did you use some formatting feature of the MXDataGrid?





    Are you going to update your Web Matrix book? I hear WROX went out of business! Is that true? Good books!
