Yup. I had the same problem, and filed a bug report on it. The workaround I found is to drop the new item onto an existing item in the category folder, rather than on the folder itself. It looks to me as though once the first item is added, the drag-drop is off by one space, so if you try to drop on the folder itself, the item ends up one space above the folder. Given how cool SharpReader is, I'll forgive this very minor flaw.  ;-)
