Blog editing options

After my post on editing blogs from within SharpReader by navigating to one's blog home page, I figured it might be worth trying other methods.

So I'm composing this blog entry in FrontPage, and hoping that when I copy the resulting HTML into my blog, it won't hose up Scott's RSS feed (no beating me if it does, Scott, OK?).

The one nice thing about using FrontPage, over the built-in HTML control at dotnetweblogs.com is that I tend to want all of my links to open in a new window, rather than navigating away from my blog (I know, some people probably find this irritating, but that's an argument for another day). With the HTML control, that's not an option, you have to manually switch to HTML view and add the target="_blank" attribute manually. Much easier with FrontPage, and then I just paste in the HTML and I'm on my merry way.

Speaking of SharpReader, I'm puzzled by the behavior that I'm seeing with some blogs, so perhaps someone can enlighten me as to what's going on. Occasionally, on blogs such as Critical Section, existing posts show up as being new, even though I've already read them. I initially assumed this meant that they had been edited, but none of them looked like they had. Anyone see anything similar? Any ideas why this happens?
