Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise Edition for Free

The full software for 32-bit and 64-bit versions is available as a free download !!!

This is the full Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise edition available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. This is not a trial or limited version !

Virtual machines created today with Virtual Server will be able to migrate into our hyper visor based Windows virtualization.

Why is this happening?

Microsoft sources state that they’re developing virtualization technology into Longhorn Server and they want people getting used to the idea of free virtualization – do you smell the fear of VMWare ??? (I DO smile2)

What else is coming … Linux support and availability of VM Additions for Linux !

  • Who is smelling whom's fear? I'm not sure which you mean, but I think this escalation is good.



    MS has made their aquisition/product good enough that VMWare started giving away a virtual server a little while ago.



    MS should have a bit more incentive to give them away, after all you still need an OS running in the VM :D
