• 5 seconds or less? I couldn't work it out in 5 minutes. Mind you, most of the time it was loading the flash objects.
  

• this site isn't new at all.
  But its a great sample application for how cool flash is ;-)
  

• And another funny thing is that they are still using Flash, not promoting their tool Silverlight!

• They probably had problems deploying a Silverlight version. I get annoyed by all the gamer advertisements for Visual Studio which show up on all the programming web sites I visit. It does not make me look very professional.
  

• I've been seeing the "Defy All Challenges" ads for a while, but... didn't the "Visual Studio" logo on the splash screen give it away?

• Defy All Challenges... Can somebody tell me why this 'unnecessary thing' is build in Adobe Flash?
  

• I find it funny that Microsoft isn't doing much to advance Silverlight. Most of their new sites are in Flash. Come on! Why should we use it if they won't???
  

• They have to deal with the same constraint everyone else does... that being that Flash is almost a guarantee and everyone will see it, where as Silverlight risks you not getting your message out.
  
  I'm an MS developer and I don't even have it installed. On the consumer end of things, why would I care about it?
  

• That's true but MS doesn't always do that. There are portions of their sites that can only be viewed in IE (you are actually prevented from continuing in another browser). An MSDN documentation won't print in non-IE browsers a lot of the time.
  
  So why start playing nice now? They could simply as Silverlight to windows updates to get a bigger install base
