Not More Datagrid Nonsense...?!

Julia points out that there is a new .NET rocks show up at Franklins.net.

Marcy seems like a great girl, but maybe some day, they will interview XML Boy or Patterns Man, so I can justify the hour away from real work...

  • stop bitching and try doing something positive.

  • Pretty nasty, guys. Nice way to encourage members of the community who are doing a lot to help other people out.

  • Criticism is a good thing, without it, you cannot grow. The datagrid is an elementary topic and is plenty well documented, time to move on. It is great that Marcie helps people out that can't seem to get their hands around it, but it is disapointing to see an entire episode of my favorite .NET show devoted to such nonsense. It's just not on par with some of the other topics they have had, that's all.

  • Exactly. I cannot see how so much attention as been focused on a relatively simple control. Yes, maybe paging is hard but essentially set some properties and you're done. This is extremely elementary compared to many real problems developers face with .NET.

The criticism is a good thing because honestly Julie, Marcie needs to grow out of the image she protrays if she wants to move up to the next level. Honestly, please take a look at the words chosen on the "rent" screen and tell me what that conveys. Take a look at the picture gallery. She may have felt at one time that this is what she needed to convey to break that "barrier" for women. I don't buy it. Its nonsense. You break through like every one else: technical skills and good writing. Many developers who I have shown the site are repulsed by its approach. I honestly don't think it serves her future growth.

And yes, this is not up to par with their other topics. If we can't say all this, then so be it, but it's real and it isen't just me that has wanted to say all these things for a long time.

You still haven't said anything, posting as Anon isn't "up to par" with using your real name.

I wouldn't criticize for someone spending time on building an image.

I'm just sick of Anons appearing on blogs, why say anything if you can't stand up and be held accountable. At least Jesse used his name while expressing an opinion.
