Royale

Had a chance to meet with the team and get a preview of an early Royal build and give some feedback. Of coruse, NDA covers everything interesting, so I can't give out the details, but I will say this much: Royal is very cool. Watch out Laszlo, I think its safe to say they've got you beat.

PS: I now am officially impressed by at least one product team at Macromedia. They really do understand developer needs in that group.

  • way to go Jesse :) Would have loved to have seen that my self. I know you can't say much with the NDA but anything interesting in Royale for .NET developers?

  • Don't want to say anything that I'm not sure is public knowledge...so, here is the portion of the faq about this:

"How will Royale fit into my current environment?

Royale will provide a great new way to deliver the presentation tier of n-tier applications, leveraging the Macromedia Flash player. Royale uses a text-based format so developers can create Royale applications using their preferred IDE or text editor. Customers will continue to use their existing tools, languages, application servers and databases to build applications that take advantage of the standards-based Royale technology. "
