  • I *think* that when he signed up with Reebok he all but signed away any hope of playing High School or College ball. First 8th grader to go right to the pros?

  • I don't know if they signed him yet though, it is some contest they are doing where parents send in their videos if they think their kid has game... if he keeps it up though, someone is definately going to sign him before he gets out of high school. This kid lives up in Lee's Summit, MO, which is only about a 3-4 hour drive from here. In a few years, I might have some good HS basketball games to check out :-).

  • Yeah, but the kid is only THREE. Let's see... he could stop growing at 5'10"... he could end up nearsighted... injure any one of his limbs... any number of things in the next 12-14 years. (I kept away from acts of God which nobody can predict, but they can certainly happen too.)

When you really get down to it, Tiger Woods was extremely fortunate. Very few phenoms in their childhood years evolve into rich polished adult professionals. Who's to say this kid will even LIKE to play the game by time he discovers women, music and fast cars?

  • That is a good point. Many olympians (especially in Track and Field) where never any good till late high school or college (Carl Lewis couldn't even make his high school relay team). Some times, you even get some guy who had never ran a race before, trains for 4 years, and wins a gold metal.

Still, if he discovers women, music, and fast cars he will definately like the game, if only as a means to an end :-).

  • jeezus, my kid is going to be that talented.. i'm pushing him to the limits =p
