Great Opensource Photo Shop Alternative
GIMP 2.0
is about to be released. You can
download a windows installer here. I've been using GIMP for ages now and I have to say it is
very cool. I see little reason to spend $700 per dev on a copy
of Photoshop for misc. icon editing / image conversion, etc.
GIMP beats the hell out of Paint for that type of thing (it
can actually do just about everything Photoshop can) and the
zero dollar price tag sure is nice.

I remember messing around with GIMP way back in
1998-1999? It sure has come a long way since then!
I'm confused. What do you mean by "GIMP beats
the hell out of notepad for that type of
thing"?
Lol... let me fix that. I meant paint.
I love the GIMP too. Some of my Photoshop head friends
say it lacks things but it is great for me. It has more
image editing power than I will ever need.
GIMP does CMYK in 2.0
Funny, I installed GIMP in my PC and didn't see any APP
FOLDER anywhere *shrugs*
GIMP rocks... Not as good as photoshop... but photoshop
ain't $700 better than GIMP!
GIMP is perfect for game modding, image manipulation
(Size, orientation, effects), gadget customisation (PSP,
Cell-phone) and for home website projects to mention
just a few of it's uses. Used in combination with
Irfanview (Free media viewer and image manipulator)
there's not realy many features you'll need that they
don't have between them.
