eDocument gets publicity!

The first release of our product eDocument has made headlines today in Norways two biggest e-zines: ComputerWorld.no and digi.no (unfortunately all in norwegian).

Since january, myself and two fellow (now ex-)students has designed and developed the product eDocument from scratch with very little guidance or specs. The solution is written entirely in .NET and consists of :

eDocument Editor - A Windows Forms based client used to create web dialog forms with a MS Word-like interface. The dialogs have conditional logic and a set of input controls (text/number/email boxes, checkboxlists and radiobuttonlists etc).

eDocument Server - An IIS hosted remoting server used to store and retreve active eDocuments and handling response XML documents from the Web server. Current handling includes XML to Excel parsing of responses, PDF transform and emailing.

eDocument Web - An ASP.NET web application that displays eDocuments stored on the server and dispatches response XML to the server via remoting.

eDocument Administrator - A Windows Forms client used to administrate the Server and Web application.

Future plans for the product is integration with several different Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions for signing of responsedocuments. A Microsoft BizTalk integration is also planned. The news of this week is that eFactory has signed a deal with Norways largest public-form supplier, Sem & Stenersen which has a market share of +90% in public sector and banking on regular paper-based forms. They seem very pleased with the solution. It's nice to get some credit once in a while:)

I'll write a more thorough technical description of the solution and experiences in english as soon as I get the time.
