I do not know if you already saw the Google Zeitgeist. But I think it is a good statistic on how the people browse through the internet. If i look at my own statistic log files I can see a similiar browser usage.

  The problem with statistics is that they don't represent correctly the real world. You can think 'I will develop only for IE 6, because almost nobody uses other browsers' but you forget this way, that the very people, who do use Mozilla, Opera etc., are the same people who will yell the loudest. You can feel that you can afford making 2% of people angry, but in this case, you will be eaten alive for slashdot-like folks.

  Using the "only develop for the browser that everyone is using" theory says that everyone should be developing for Mosaic right? That we should never forge ahead? Don't worry about developing for the new things because everyone is still using the old thing?
