Tags: AJAX, Ajax.NET, Source Code

Update: Have a look at Ajax.NET Professional at http://www.ajaxpro.info/. The Web site of BorgWorX is not available any more.

The source code is now available at SediSys. You can download the source code of the Ajax.NET library with any SVN client (http://subversion.tigris.org/). Beside the official command-line client programm a comfortable Windows GUI client can be found at http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/. For anonymous access use https://svn.borgworx.net/SVN/BorgWorX. You will find the Ajax.NET library in the folder /trunk/Web/Core/Ajax.

There is a Wiki available at http://www.borgworx.net/ where we will build a documentation for Ajax.NET.

If you have source code changes please send it me or Christian Hubinger (SediSys). We will merge the changes with the Ajax.NET source code.

Update: The forum is available at http://forum.borgworx.net/.

The sources released from "SediSys GmbH" will be not useable for many Open Source developers as this license is not accepted. Nobody knows about a BorgworX Public License. There are many licensec around, why to create a new one? I don't compare the Apple public license and the BPL but it looks like SediSYS chreate a own license based on the APL. When they use a other license as basic, they should change all, as I sure, Apple will not be happy when someone publish a license with their headers.

It looks like that this company "SediSYS" use AJAX.NET only for own marketing activities and not to host or develop it with a community.

Why the project is not longer available at SF project page?

When this people from SediSYS want learn about Open Source development and license usage, they should take a look at the Mono project where you can choose between different licenses.

The idea to make AJAX.NET public as open source was a good idea, but it looks like that again a "company" use a development/project only for their own needs.

Maybe Michael Schwarz will make the last version which was published on SF.net again available for download that Open Source projects can use this cool developers without any license issues

This license effectively disqualifies AJAX.NET from use in any serious and/or commercial applications, so BEWARE - you might accidentally wind up GPLing your whole application:

2.3 Distribution of Executable Versions. In addition, if You
Deploy Covered Code (Original Code and/or Modifications and/or
Derived Work) in object code, executable form only, You must include a
prominent notice, in the code itself as well as in related documentation,
stating that Source Code of the Covered Code (Original Code and/or
Modifications and/or Derived Work) is available under the terms of this
License with information on how and where to obtain such Source Code.

    > ... but this license is revoced when the version reaches 1.0.

This was unfortunately not what we ment. Sorry for that we are not native english speaking people.

Shurely you can use the pre 1.0 release with the free license as long as you like. You will only need a new license if you like to use the 1.x releases.

So if you are happy with the pre releases you won't need not to pay for anything.

    > I really only need the price and licensing terms before v1.0 comes along.

I can't name any details of the commercial license but the pricing will be somwhere around 300 EURO.
Details of the license terms will be published soon. Please stay patience and have a look at the BorgWorX page for updates about the licensing terms.

    greetings,
    Christian Hubinger, SediSys
