BT SDK + dotMSN = Voice Call / SMS over MSN

Thats right, it is that simple. With the help of excellent XihSolutions MSN Messaging API and BT SDK, you can develop your own bot to mashup IM and Phone plus any other services you may like.

You can download the solution here. Note that you need to setup BT SDK on your box before running the attached sample.

BT SDK Bot Flow
The format for IM messages are:

For voice call:
call <source> <destination>
eg. call 447******* 447*******

For SMS:
sms <destination> <message>
eg. sms 447******* Hello

The SDK is now also available for Java, Python and PHP. Get it all from here. Letme know if you have any suggestions or comments.

is this only for UK to UK sms+calls?
when you "call", will this connect source to destination OR IM window to destination

It will use the call back feature and connect phone-to-phone directly and AFAIK, it should work in other countries as well.

Very cool app!

The phone call and SMS should work with any landline or mobile anywhere in the word. You can find out more at the BT SDK website, web21c.bt.com!

To the best of my knowledge it does wrk with calls all over the world. Since this is beta, there is a limit on the duration and usage per day.

I think the SMS largely works internationally too.

This is so cool, took a little time to get up and running (buddy lists and such) but it's really simple and so freaking cool!

Good work.

Be nice if auto accept of buddy list could be added.
