SharePoint Big Secret

I am taking a class this week at [itt] on SharePoint 2007. My instructor is Miguel Wood from TekFocus. I must confess, it sure is fun to be "student" for a change.

At one point, Miguel had a hushed crowd listening as he said "I am going to share with you the 'Big Secret' of SharePoint." I got my blogging fingers ready as he revealed:

"Everything in SharePoint is a list"

There, now everyone knows...

Then, is SharePoint written in Lisp?

Perhaps SharePoint will redefine the term "List Processing" :-)

Forgot that one, which is probably even closer to the point. It's from Guy Steele (of Common Lisp fame):

"Lisp is a Black Hole: if you try to design something that’s not Lisp, but like Lisp, you’ll find that the gravitational forces on the design will suck it into the Black Hole, and it will become Lisp."

the problem with LISP was not the LISTS but the parenthesis!
I recall my initial learning days with 'Lots of Insipid Stupid Parenthesis' but it got to be fun later..

Everything is a list in SharePoint excepted, unfortunelly for us, user profiles.
