Future of IE7

What's about IE7 or few thoughts about browsers in coma... errr... in maintenance mode.
Well done Slavomir. My opinion on that is:
- First what IE7 can improve ?
The debate should be about having new functionalities and/or debug what's already there.
The problem with new features is that you are sure to open the door to many patches before having a reliable version.
Debugging IE should be also an interesting idea. I don't know someone who never experienced IE 6 (or less) crashing. If it's happen to me, I am surely not the only one.
- Next IE7 must be 99 % compliant with all official guidelines, especially with CSS.
- Also a hot potatoe will be to open the source of IE, probably in the way it was done with Netscape, but I would say with a Microsoft eye on that. Because for me the main reason to have multiple versions and sub versions of Netscape is obviouly the bugs and the non-compliance of the product to standards.
I think opening will not be a threat for MS, but a way to stimulate energies on new ideas. I think about Curl for example.
Surely IE have almost all of the market, but they gave us in many occasions the idea that they are an innovative company, so I am quite optimistic and we will probably see the next version very soon.
