Steve and Bill the moguls

On BBC 2 tonight at 9.50 (Ireland - UK time). Remind me this excellent novel 'War of the buttons', where at the end the kids, after a childish war, finally become friends. Hey you never know ;-)

The World's most powerful computer moguls

Alvin Hall goes on the trail of two of the most powerful computer moguls in the world. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computers, and Bill Gates, head of Microsoft, were responsible for the birth of modern personal computing.

Alvin Hall meets those who know them best to discover what it takes to be at the top in the computer industry. On his journey he reveals amazing stories about how they operate and hears of the board room fall outs, take-overs and deals that put these men at the top.

He hears how even as a young school boy Gates was running a successful business analysing traffic data with primitive computers. Alvin also discovers how the young Steve Jobs used to try and intimidate potential employees by being barefoot with his feet on the table during interviews. Alvin Hall identifies their moments of fame and moments of shame and decides which of the two is the world's most powerful computer mogul.

Contributors include Steve Wozniak, the man who engineered the first ever PC and Bill Gates' maths teacher.
