Yukon

What's about Yukon available for MSDN subscribers ?

I would like to have my hands on Yukon like many others. I can play with Whidbey Longhorn but what's about Yukon ?

Mr Microsoft can you make it available soon ?

  • Its a work in progress. Yeah there are some good things, but it is VERY beta at this point. Trust me, you want to wait on this.......

  • I don't know if it's beta but I can play with Whidbey which is still alpha.

  • Well it is avaialble in the *usual* places...legally no, available...yes...

  • well Scott if you can give me some *legally* advice directly by email ;-))

  • good things comes to those who wait?

    :-)

  • Agree but you know I tried Whidbey and Longhorn and now I would like to see Yukon.

I am a geek you know so I live in the future ;-)

  • Two thoughts.

1.) Fred is right -- it's very beta at this point. There's a not-so-funny-ha-ha joke that about the only thing implemented is "this feature is not yet implemeneted" dialog box.

2.) That said, its in much better shape, I think, than Whidbey VS.NET and is certainly better off than Longhorn.

I'm curious, though -- what specifically are you interested in?

  • Actually, if you do a lot of MS SQL stuff, you'd probably be very interested in the current version. Now, if you are the type of person who must have a GUI to do everything, then I have to agree with a previous poster who said to wait.

With that said, I do believe that Yukon is one of the betas where a co-worker who is on the beta can add you to their beta program. I may be wrong though. But if I am right, find a co-worker who is on the beta, or find a person who is on the beta for their on personal reasons and isn't on it for business and I'd guess you could do a not-for-profit group coalition or something that makes it necessary for them to add you. ;)

  • If it is so VERY Beta I for one am glad you told us. I use MS SQL extensively but am still finding new things in it. It would be nice to get on the beta program though
