Dropping F-Bombs in the Windows Source

The BBC is running an article about why the release of the Windows source code is bad for Microsoft.  One of the problems is that it is “littered with profanity.”  Judging by some of Raymond's posts, I'm not surprised.

Edit: Here's a link to slashdot where someone did a grep on the code.  I'll sit patiently by and wait for black helicopters to pick me up for posting it.  And the best comment? “lets do some majic shit so the compiler generates 'good' code” from rhe.c.  It also appears someone is not fond of the LPITEMIDLIST playing with some alpha compiler.

This error shouldn't happen, it it does email me at @Microsoft.com

  • Awesome. I am constantly writing small rants in my code. It usually makes for good reading by newbies.....Glad to see others enjoy the same practice.

  • Well I can't say I've ever put any profanity in my comments but I have put a few jokes in it a time or two. I like to think maybe someday some one will come along to extend my stuff and have a laugh.
