Big News #1: It begins....

Most of you that know me know that I have been hard at work over the past two years now, working on my vision for technology. I've been talking to many people over the last two years, and setting my ideas down on paper. I waited a full year before bringing my best friend on board, and we have been working very hard over the past year to create what we now feel is a truly great vision for .NET. This month coincides with the one-year anniversary of me bringing him on. It is appropriate, therefore, that this month will be as big as it is going to be. It's been a long road, and we're finally here. But this is only the beginning.

I've had a lot of people say to me that I'm all talk and no action. So far, from what is visible to the public, they'd be right. No longer. There was a reason we waited until today to unveil the depth and breadth of our efforts. We had planned for a launch this big, but nothing could have prepared me for how big today was going to be.

One thing says it all:

That's right. Today, I officially became an MVP for ASP.NET. I'm so excited to be recognized for the work I do in this community. It may not seem like it through my rants and sometimes harsh tone, but I really care for this community, and I spend every day working to make it better. And there is nothing like the satisfaction of working with someone to solve a really difficult problem, and finally getting it right.

With this announcement comes 2 pertinent pieces of information. 1) At 21, I am the youngest MVP for ASP.NET in the US. 2) To the best of my knowledge, having done a bunch of research to corroborate, I am the second youngest MVP in the world. As far as anyone has been able to gather, Brian Desmond (16) is the only one younger than me. (CORRECTION: I have been notified that there are 2 more MVPs that are younger than me)Personally, I think it's really cool because adults don't give younger adults credit because of a perceived lack of experience. I hope this goes to prove that age is only a measure of the passing of time.

Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of the community. I'm truly excited for what is ahead. I hope to see many of you at the PDC, we've got lots to talk about! And congratulations to all the other new MVPs. I'd like to know who you all are, but they haven't posted the new list yet.

More news ahead....
