PatchDayReview.com Update
I just spent the past day or so on some new updates to PatchDayReview.com, so I thought I'd give everyone a quick rundown.
First of all, we upgraded to .Text 0.95 a few weeks ago. The major change that this brings is the ability to give your posts a custom name. Now, instead of random post numbers, all bulletins are now accessible directly by Microsoft Security Bulletin number. The convention works like this: http://www.patchdayreview.com/posts/MS03-045.aspx and so forth. Should make things a lot easier, and help out our Google rankings as well.
Secondly, we're now running ASP.NET Forums 2.0 Alpha RC2 at http://forums.patchdayreview.com . I've already helped Rob Howard stamp out a bug, and I'm hoping that, through some high-volume use, we can track down and eliminate some more issues before it goes gold in a few weeks. Besides general security topics, we have a forum for each bulletin we post about, and all reviews have been updated with direct links to their respective forums. If you need help with any patches, that's the place to go.
Because of this, I'm going to need some assistance in moderating this new part of the community. If you have some security-related experience, and are interested in poutting in a few hours a week as a moderator, please let me know. I'm hoping that the Microsoft PSS Teams will spend some time watching the comments on the site as well. I'm sure they'll get plenty of feedback from people implementing these patches.
Now that these changes are made, my next task is to get the site current with all the latest bulletins. I'm nearly done with that, and you should see something by the week's end. At any rate, please head on over and check the site out. I'm looking forward to some active and productive discussions on patching and security.
