Thats against some http 1.1 or some sort of spec reccomendation , not to make more than a fixed concurrent request one server.
isnt it ?
Using 30 ou 2500 for the maxrequest key would result in the same result, the number is hard limited to 8 ;)
if enough people do that, it can kill the web server (they might filter out your ip)
I didn't know it's hard limited to 8 - weird.
I've been using this tip since 2003 and not once has anyone banned my IP or reported a problem with this...
Also - it works. That can't be a bad thing.
All of these settings have already been set in my FF. Did you consider using the FasterFox extension, which is what probably set my settings.
How is this different than a site that uses AJAX?
As somebody already pointed out. Firefox extensino FasterFox changes your settings automatically depending on your connection.
Your Firefox tweak works great on my computer. I am using a cable "ultra lite" internet connection to save money so this tweak really gets to the pages much quicker. Thanks. I have a P3 600, running Win98SE.
