I have Vista x64 and WLW installed just fine. Strange.
Did it give you an error or something?
By the way, congrats on the new job! Are you states-side
now?
Roy dude, congratulations on finally deciding where to
go.
Good luck :)
You joining TypeMock - that says a lot, both on you and
on Eli, in terms of being able to learn and be open to
different approaches.
Strange that 64-bit problem with Live Writer... I read
about it before but when I got my new laptop also from a
new company and put a 64-bit OS on it, in my case Vista
64-bit, it just installed fine. No problem.
And I can only agree with you about the smell of new
hardware. :-)
I installed the latest live writer on my Vista x64 box
with out issue. Odd that XP would have trouble with it.
If you're going to go 64-bit, go Vista. Really. Windows
XP 64-bit was a first effort. Windows Server 2003 64-bit
was based on that first effort. But it's still a first
effort.
Microsoft got nearly all of the kinks worked out in the
Vista rendition of their 64-bit OS.
It's not that I particularly like Vista. It's that I use
both Windows Server 2003 64-bit at work and Windows
Vista 64-bit at home, both of which have as many tools
installed, and I couldn't be more annoyed with my boss
that he wants me to avoid Vista for no good reason at
all when I've had all kinds of headaches with Windows
Server 2003 64-bit, most notably there's no Logitech
keyboard/mouse driver support, and the Aptana IDE won't
render anything correctly. But it all works great in
Vista 64-bit.
