Oren: I've read your post and found it interesting.
Especially the fact that I may have been
"rude" in saying that Pair Programming
may not work in Israel (I didn't notice I was being
inclusive to all projects.. was I? I meant to say
"sometimes" or "a lot of
times") and my point was to try and ask togh
questions as if I was looking for a "hard
answer" when in reality there is no such thing.
I just wanted to hear Kent say it, rather than me.
Maybe this is just a great example of cultural
differences in conversations and interviews. I remember
a flap some years ago when an Israeli journalist was
skewered here in the US for his interview style with our
then-President Bill Clinton. ISTR the journalist felt he
wasn't getting questions answered in the detail or
domain he wanted, so he kept interrupting and asking
things different ways.
(Note I'm not comparing your interviews directly to that
example, just pointing out an interesting bit of
history.)
