It's all about attitude and impact. I think it's not too
fair to compare fashion and software architecture. While
it's possible to dive too deep into theoretical realm in
architecture and end up not solving any real world
problems, most of the software architecture debates and
discussions solve real world issues.
Frankly, most people adopt a "who the **** cares?"
attitude to fashion while most developers cannot afford
to do the same in software architecture without
sacrificing performance and competitive edge.
