EWeek states that Forrester Research is not enthusiastic about Sql Server 2005

SQL Server 2005 will likely be a dud at delivering high-performance computing, according to a new report from Forrester Research Inc.

This major upgrade of Microsoft Corp.'s enterprise relational DBMS is due in the summer. Summer being only a few months away, it's "surprising" that no TPC-C results have yet been published, according to Noel Yuhanna, author of the report, titled "SQL Server 2005 Likely to Fall Short in High-End Performance Delivery."

Hmm.....  As I remember, and I might be wrong, TPC results are not allowed to be reported unless it can be guaranteed the the configuration  tested is shippable within 6 months.

  • whatever it means! don't you think it's not that nice from microsoft since they did NOT mention anything regarding the pure SQL engine performance I mean they always talk about performance gains from the new features, but nothing about pure sql transactions performance or even some estimates about performance tests!!!.

I hope micorsoft would reply to these issues ASAP.

    thanks
