Copernic Desktop Search

Copernic Desktop Search - They claim to be "The Search Engine for your PC".

I just installed it and it is indexing my files right now, we'll see if it is as good as they say. The first thing I see that I don't like about it is their Web Search, it uses http://www.alltheweb.com with no option to change it, that I can find, however I will over look this since that is not its main purpose.

  • G'day Wes, I downloaded Copernic last week and it's been pretty good so far...not that I have many searching needs, but I hate the default Windows "Search" and indeed I find it better to turn off indexing on my drives and use Copernic. One of the negatives I've found in one week's use are that it indexes your internet "history" but that only extends to just the URL. Good points are that it doesn't use too much memory, the index is not large, you can make it index code files like *.vb or *.sql, and the find is fast.

Good luck, if you find something better write about that too!
