DevConnections Conference Wrap-Up

I just got back from the DevConnections conference in Las Vegas and thought I'd give a quick summary.  If you've never attended a DevConnections conference they're both fun and educational and will definitely keep you hopping with different talks and events.

Although I spent quite a bit of time prepping for my talks during the week (code and content for my presentations can be downloaded here), I had a chance to catch up with a lot of great people.  Over the course of the week I had the chance to model the new "No More DLL Hell - The Song" T-Shirt (listen to the song here) with the world famous Scott Guthrie (see below), chatted with Rick Strahl about a variety of technologies and wind surfing, discussed AJAX technologies and yet another AJAX framework being released with Steven Walther and Steve Smith, laughed about production issues with conference chair Paul Litwin, caught up with data guru Julia Lerman, discussed music-recording and V-Synths with Bernard Wong, sympathized with the challenges of running a big conference with director Erik Ruthruff, heard military flying stories from Bill Vaughn, learned more about WPFe from Billy Hollis, found out more about the future of data from the Microsoft Data Programmability team, talked about the challenges of book writing with Alex Homer, Dave Sussman and Dino Esposito, met WROX's senior acquisition editor Jim Minatel, chatted with Microsoft's Phoenix area .NET evangelist Tim Heuer, plus talked with a ton of other conference speakers and attendees.   The best part of all of it was hanging out with my wife and kids and good pals Spike Xavier and Jeff Jones at night. It was a tiring but extremely fun week.

Here's the picture of myself, Spike Xavier (left) and Scott Guthrie (middle) modeling the new "No More DLL Hell - The Song" T-Shirt:

I'm hoping to post some video from my talks soon so check back.  I want to give a big "thanks" to the good people at Interface Technical Training for giving me the time off to speak at the conference.  If you're ever looking for any .NET, SQL Server or AJAX training come visit us in sunny Phoenix, AZ.

If you didn't get a chance to attend in Las Vegas the next one is the last week of March, 2007 in Orlando.  There's always lots of great content, speakers, events, etc. so I highly recommend attending!
